Gigi’s second chance
This is not the update we hoped to share about Gigi (formerly Meme).
In case you missed her story... Gigi came to us as a transport earlier this summer and has already lived through more pain than any dog should. Blind. Overbred. Mutilated ears from a cruel DIY crop job. Locked in a shed for days after her owners passed away — alone, scared, and forgotten.
Despite it all, Gigi is pure love. She adores cuddles, gets along with other dogs, and wants nothing more than to be close to her people.
When she came to Thomasville Humane in June, we placed her in a loving foster home where she began to heal. Our plan was to spay her and make her adoption official — but when she went under anesthesia, she stopped breathing.
Now, vets have found urgent issues with her heart, lungs, skin, and a large mammary tumor that must be removed. She needs an echocardiogram, ongoing treatment, and surgery when it’s safe. She already has a family, now she just needs your help to heal.
Her vet bill has already surpassed $1,000 and we still do not have all the answers we need. We’re trying to raise $2,000 to cover her care and give her the healthy, happy life she deserves.
Please help Gigi get her second chance, and live out her days happy and healthy with the people who love her.
Every gift, no matter the size, brings her one step closer to a future filled with love.
